Snail Eater Beetles

Scaphinotus are snail eaters, but will prey on other small, soft-bodied prey in captivity. These beetles are very active and measure nearly an inch.

No guarantee on lifespan of these beetles, but ground beetles generally do great on offerings of dried pet food (I use fish pellets) in habitats with moderately moist substrate (dirt or coconut fiber). Of course, slugs and snails are their favorite foods but I don't ship these particular foods. Other soft-bodied live prey are relished, like caterpillars and soft larvae of other species. Mealworms might work. Certainly their pupae would!
