Dynastes granti Rhino Beetle Larvae

This is the longest, most impressive rhino beetle in the United States. These are currently available as captive raised L1/L2 larvae.

It takes an average of 12-18 months for the larvae to go from egg to adult, as they molt through three larvael instars (L1, L2 and L3). Larvae feed on decomposing wood from hardwood trees like oak or beech, etc.

The first video below describes care for beetle larvae, including rhino beetles. The second video compares the yellower Dynastes tityus to the larger, olive-colored Dynastes granti. Color and intensity varies slightly within both species.
